PCSO Sitcom on TV this week

Post by typecastboy » Sun Feb 21, 2010 3:18 pm

Do you remember back last year, there was talk of a new Sitcom based around a group of PCSOs. It was called Above Their Station, some of us were going to go to the pilot filming?

Well it's on this week - in fact 9.30pm tomorrow (Monday) evening on BBC3

I know it's going to be a pee take, but I'm sure it'll be worth a watch.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oyw8zP3T ... r_embedded

There is a new breed of policemen on our streets -

Police with no truncheons

No handcuffs

No powers

and no brains

Just watched the preview on youtube, looks a bit weak and a bit silly, but will still give it a bash, hopefully it won't go beyond the pilot stage!

The only good thing on BBC3 at the moment is Being Human the rest is rubbish ohh apart from the Dr Who repeats lolz .

Anyhow It is about time pcso's were acknowledged by having having their own sitcom imo whether it be good or poor

No different than 'The thin blue line' for PCs i suppose. At least the role is known well enough to get a show :slwoot:

I saw this tonite, I thought Thin Blue line was bad, this is utter sugar. I dont mind the usuall anti PCSO rubbishy jokes, but this is not even funny, there is no really funny gags in here. looks like a rush attempt at filling a void, :slbx:

The three minutes I watched was three minutes of my life that I'll never get back.

That is all.

PI and GI is correct totally

'Above Their Station' wasted no time in showing PCSOs as having no authority, no respect, no value and no use to either yobs or PCs

PCSOs were constantly and hugely belittled, all the way through the programme

At the cost of any honest analysis on the PCSO role, cheap laughs were lined up, time after time, I really do hope that this IS a one off, it does the PCSO cause no good at all :slra:

Didn't see it my self, but have watched the clip and I must say i did giggle, its a comedy show, I look at it this way, the people who like us will laugh but It will not change their mind about or role and us.

The people who hate us will always hate us no matter what, between you and me I could not care if it goes on or stops dead in its tracks.

hehe I had not watched the clip (see first post at top) which is basically 'the best bits' all cobbled together in 4 minutes

the sense of 'PCSO bashing' is largely lost in that clip

Was crap. I liked the first 5 minutes but then it went off the boil with some stupid scripting, the swan/cleaner basis the episode was based off was awful.

Nothing beats "Visably different".

Although im sure if the tv company approached me I could have given them some far better gaffes.

The only amusing bit I thought was funny, was "being suspended". Apart from that it was utter unfunny garbage. I looked at the production company website and they are trying to sell it as a series. Going by what we saw last night, I don't think they will be selling it somehow!!!
