They need us!!!!

I think if that’s the argument to stop the boat sinking
I going to take swimming lesions
Perhaps i did not explain properly what i meant was that we help them and they help us and as such we both need each other we free them upto do there job and we are being a visible presents on the street. :)

In some ways Ant i think you are right, they need us as a visible presence, however ask if they would want a Sworn Officer i know which they would choose.

RE "nothing gets printed about all our good work done doe it!!!! "

Until recently the papers were full of PCSO good work stories especially all the local rags. The government went out of its way to promote these stories. You have to take the good with a bad, PCs are use to this, you shouldn't be so sensitive.

Dyfed Powys PCSOs have been branded as plastic policemen by a former superintendent to the press. When will the message get through to the press that we are NOT police officers and that we deal with the lesser crime aspect and more the crime deterring aspect as well as the intelligence gathering.
I am very worried about a documentary that is in the planning following PCSOs, I only hope it portrays us in a positive light. To be honest I think PCSO is now a buzz word that the press will jump on with a negative perspective. At the end of the day we know we do a good job and this is backed up by the community who say how nice it is to see an officer on the beat.
We are here because of shortfallings in the police in the past, who didnt and probably still dont like getting out of their cars and talking to people.
