For those who are worried or wish to train for the bleep test I have included the bleep test.

You can download it from the link attached.

If anyone has trouble downloading, ask and I'll email you the file.

Re: Prescription cycling glasses

As you're all hopefully aware, there is a uniform allowance available to all CSOs which gives you an extra £140 off your taxable income.

Do you automatically get the £140 allowance or do you need to apply for it??

Re: Prescription cycling glasses

Where I've asked waiting for HR to find out if I can get them....I know we're entitled to free eye tests etc as we use VDU's for a large part of our jobs.

So you never know ....thanks for your input

They are glasses, not uniform.
Cycle glasses must be worn while on a cycle hence they are uniform!

Re: Prescription cycling glasses

Why don't you buy them yourself if you are that concerned about injury? One they should be police issue as you not allowed to add personal items to your uniform and secondly why should I pay for something that I'd only use at work!! But if I can't I may have to see if I can buy my own..... IRONS!!!...

Do any of you know if we are entitled to prescription cycling glasses? As under Health and safety would I be covered if I came off my police cycle and got injured as my own prescription glasses I use for everyday have metal frames and I would imagine cause some damage and aren't police issue. Just a shame articles like these don't make the tabloids that everyone reads.
Then again would the tabloids print them? Good news doesn't really sell papers does it?

They will have it in for us until they find another group to attack.....

Nice article though Falkor ;)
