Did anyone else go to the Safer Neighbourhoods talk given by Sir Ian Blair the in London on Friday, and if so what did you think?
I'm not sure he answered all the questions well, but I felt he was honest and open. Well done to him I say.
However its worrying to think that a Conservative Government might like to disband PCSO's (as if they could!) _________________ Ginger

Just to highlight on some things - i got some 'inside' info from Deputy Acting Commish, so i can relieve some of your questions here
PCSOS + HANDCUFFS - in the process line. DAC said its a possibility when Legislation and Remit of PCSOs is looked at and amended.
PCSOS HATS + UNIFORM - uniformity across england is NOT going to happen. Some pcsos some places look like traffic wardens... it will not change. The hat is NOT going to change, the dual band instead of lil boxes was purposeful so we do not look like real PCs in the dark - because you cannot tell black/blue in teh dark etc. |
